Greater Noida man arrested for growing ganja in flat to sell on dark web

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A man has been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police for cultivating ganja (cannabis) inside his apartment in Greater Noida, with the intention of selling it on the dark web. Rahul Chaudhary's arrest follows a similar incident in Bengaluru, where a couple was apprehended for growing ganja in their balcony garden. The police received a tip-off about Chaudhary's planned transaction and set up a trap to catch him in the act. At around 10:30 am, when Chaudhary stepped out of his flat to hand over a package of ganja to a customer, the police arrested him.

Saad Miya Khan, DCP (Greater Noida), reported that Chaudhary was apprehended near the P-3 roundabout in the Beta-2 area with the coordinated efforts of officials from the Beta-2 and Ecotech-1 police stations, as well as the district’s Anti-Narcotics Team. Police seized 80 ganja plants during the operation.

After his arrest, the police raided his flat in the Parsvnath Panorama Society, recovering approximately 2.070 kg of cannabis, along with 163.4 grams of high-quality 'OG' cannabis. Initially, authorities believed that Chaudhary had sourced the ganja from elsewhere for resale on the dark web. However, they were surprised to discover a full cannabis cultivation setup inside his apartment, equipped with all the necessary tools.
