Nation Bids Farewell: Dr. Manmohan Singh's Last Rites Tomorrow at 10 AM, PM Modi and Leaders Pay Tribute
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 on Thursday night at AIIMS Delhi. He was admitted to the hospital around 8 PM following a deterioration in his health and breathed his last at 9:51 PM during treatment.
On Friday, prominent leaders, including Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, paid their respects to Dr. Singh's mortal remains. His last rites are scheduled to be held tomorrow, December 28, at 10 AM.
While paying tribute, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, *"Dr. Manmohan Singh's humility, gentleness, and intellect defined his persona. Despite being educated at prestigious global institutions and holding top government positions, he remained remarkably simple and accessible. During my tenure as Chief Minister, I often had open discussions with him on national and international issues whenever I visited Delhi."*
