Amit Shah Announces BJP-AIADMK Alliance, Sets Sights on Tamil Nadu 2026 Assembly Elections
Chennai (The Uttam Hindu): Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced a alliance between BJP and AIADMK for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. The alliance will be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level and AIADMK leader E Palaniswami in Tamil Nadu. Shah expressed confidence that the NDA will secure a huge majority in the elections.Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a press conference with K. Annamalai and AIADMK's Edappadi Palaniswami. During this, he said that AIADMK and BJP leaders have decided that AIADMK, BJP and all alliance parties will fight the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu together as NDA.
DMK Government Faces Criticism
Amit Shah criticized the DMK government for corruption, law and order issues, and atrocities against Dalits and women. He highlighted several scams, including a 39,000 crore liquor scam, sand mining scam, and energy scam, saying the public will hold the DMK government accountable.
Election Campaign
The BJP-AIADMK alliance aims to focus on key issues affecting Tamil Nadu, rather than divisive topics raised by the DMK, such as Sanatan Dharma and the three-language policy. The alliance is expected to contest the elections under the leadership of Palaniswami in Tamil Nadu.
