New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Oil marketing companies have announced an immediate price increase for commercial LPG gas cylinders. The cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has risen by ₹62, bringing the retail price in Delhi to ₹1,802. In addition, the price of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders has gone up by ₹15, while the rates for 14.2 kg cylinders remain unchanged. This latest hike will directly affect restaurants, hotels, and other commercial establishments that rely on LPG for their operations.

The rise in operational costs may lead to higher prices for consumers across various sectors, putting additional financial pressure on both businesses and customers. In October 2024, oil marketing companies previously increased the price of commercial LPG cylinders by ₹48.50, raising the cost of a 19 kg cylinder from ₹1,691.50 to ₹1,740. These price adjustments reflect ongoing market fluctuations, with the 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders also seeing a ₹12 increase during that period.

On September 1, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG gas cylinders was raised by ₹39, resulting in a retail price of ₹1,691.50 in Delhi. Despite the rising costs of commercial LPG, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain stable, offering some relief for households. This pricing disparity underscores the different challenges faced by consumers and businesses during these economically challenging times. The revised prices are now in effect nationwide, impacting the cost structures for many businesses that depend on LPG for cooking and operations. As these sectors adapt to the increased costs, consumers may soon notice the effects in their daily purchases.
