Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident occurred on Air India flight AI 909, traveling from Mumbai to Dubai, on Sunday, January 26. Passengers aboard the flight were trapped in a closed aircraft without air conditioning for nearly five hours, causing several passengers to experience suffocation and panic attacks.

The flight was scheduled to depart from Mumbai at 8:25 AM and arrive in Dubai at 10:15 AM. Passengers checked in on time and boarded the aircraft, but due to a technical issue, the flight was unable to take off. Passengers were forced to wait inside the aircraft with the doors closed. Finally, the flight departed from Mumbai at 5:10 PM and reached Dubai at 6:29 PM.




As the cabin temperature increased, passengers began to feel suffocated. With the air conditioning not working, many passengers had difficulty breathing. Passengers have alleged that despite the severe discomfort, the airline crew did not offer any assistance. Some passengers recorded the incident and posted the videos on social media. The videos clearly depict the fear and frustration of the passengers. One passenger mentioned that despite the commotion, the captain never left the cockpit to speak to them or provide reassurance. In the videos, passengers can be seen banging on the doors and pleading with the crew to open them. Some passengers are also seen shouting at the crew members. One passenger was heard saying, "We don't trust you. Open the door."

After the videos of the incident went viral on social media, people expressed their anger toward Air India. A passenger named Tejaswi Anand Kumar, who posted the video, described the experience on Air India flight AI909 as a horrifying ordeal. He mentioned that passengers, including children and elderly individuals, were confined in the aircraft without air conditioning for five hours. Another passenger expressed that such behavior was unexpected from an airline owned by the Tata Group. As of now, Air India has not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
