Eloped and Married, Lovers Die by Suicide After 10 Months; Bodies Found in Unfinished Hospital

Dehradun (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has come to light in Dhulkot area of ​​Premnagar police station area of ​​Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand. An electrician and his wife working in the under-construction building of Graphic Era Hospital here committed suicide by hanging themselves. The bodies of both were found hanging from a pipe in the workers' quarters. Initially, the dispute between them on Saturday night is being said to be the reason for the suicide.

The police received this information through the control room at around 9:15 am on Sunday morning. As soon as the information was received, Premnagar SHO Mohan Singh reached the spot with the police team.

According to the police, the deceased were identified as Bhaskar Lal (28 years), son of Baburam Chandrakar, resident of village Kuan, tehsil Sahaspur Lohara, police station Pipariya, district Kabirdham, Chhattisgarh and his wife Janik Gaur (26 years). The bodies of both were hanging from a pipe installed in the roof of the labourer's residence. The police took down the bodies from the noose while videography was done.

Premnagar SHO Mohan Singh said that after questioning other labourers present at the spot, it was found that Janik and Bhaskar had eloped from their home in Chhattisgarh and got married about 10 months ago. Bhaskar was an electrician by profession and had come to work with Janik at this construction site about one and a half months ago. Janik also used to help Bhaskar in his work. Labourers living together said that there was a fight between the two on Saturday night over something.

On Sunday morning, Bhaskar did not turn on the motor and fill the water tank on time. When the workers called him, he could not be contacted. While searching for him, the workers reached his room, whose door was locked from inside. When the door did not open even after a lot of knocking, it was broken, where the bodies of both were found hanging from a noose.

The police has taken both the bodies in its custody and kept them in the mortuary for postmortem. The relatives of the deceased have been informed in Chhattisgarh and called to Dehradun. After their arrival, the postmortem will be conducted. The police is investigating the matter in depth so that the real reasons for the suicide can be ascertained.
