Beijing (The Uttam Hindu): A chilling and unusual job offer from China has gone viral on social media, offering a salary of Rs 25,000 per month, but with a selection process so extreme it’s sending shivers down people's spines. The job, posted by Rushan Xinmike Human Resources Corporation Limited in Rushan, Shandong province, requires applicants to endure a series of intense tests.

One of the most disturbing requirements involves applicants having to stay in freezing temperatures, surrounded by dead bodies, for a full 10 minutes. This test is part of the rigorous selection process to assess the candidates’ mental and physical resilience. The advertisement, which went viral on December 11, specifically calls for male applicants aged 45 or younger. The position is for working at a funeral home, with 24-hour shifts. In addition to the cold test, candidates must undergo a background check, medical exam, and interview. They must also successfully complete a six-month probation period before being officially hired.

Special preference is given to residents of Rushan, and applicants are required to pay an application fee of approximately Rs 853. While the salary is Rs 25,000, workers will receive additional compensation for night shifts. While many find the job’s eerie nature laughable, some view it as a rare opportunity for stable income, even if the conditions are harsh. For others, however, the thought of working under such extreme conditions for Rs 25,000 may not be appealing.
