Airbag Causes Tragic Death: Car Collides with SUV, 6-Year-Old Dies

Navi Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): A heartbreaking incident occurred in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, where a 6-year-old boy tragically lost his life after an airbag deployed in a car crash. The incident took place when a car collided with an SUV, and the sudden deployment of the airbag led to the child's death. Three other children also sustained injuries in the accident. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

The fatal accident happened in the Vashi area of Navi Mumbai. The car was driven by the boy's father, with the 6-year-old, Harsh Mavji Arothiya, sitting in the front seat. According to police reports, the car collided with an SUV that was ahead of them, which had suddenly hit a divider. The impact caused the car's airbag to deploy, fatally injuring Harsh. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors, despite showing no external signs of injury. The cause of death is believed to be internal injuries from the airbag deployment. Harsh's three siblings, who were seated in the back of the car, also sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a cosmetic surgeon, was also injured in the crash. He has been charged with negligent driving and manslaughter. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Harsh’s father shared that they were on their way to the market to get pani-puri when the tragic accident occurred. The accident took place around 11:30 PM on Tuesday night. Harsh's father was driving the car with his son seated beside him, while the other children were in the back. Suddenly, the SUV in front of them collided with a divider, causing it to jump into the air. The father's car collided with the SUV, and the force triggered the airbag in their car, leading to Harsh's untimely death.
