YSR, Nitish, Naidu Support 'One Nation-One Election', Congress-SP Oppose Bill to Be Tabled Today

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The bill related to One Nation One Election will be introduced in the Lok Sabha today. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will introduce this bill in the House. This bill has been named 'Constitution (129th Amendment) Bill 2024'. Now the reaction of various political parties has also started coming regarding this bill.

Along with Nitish-Naidu, YSR is also with the government on 'One Nation-One Election', Congress-SP protested : Nitish Kumar's party JDU and Chandrababu Naidu's TDP, which are part of NDA, have supported this bill. At the same time, YSR Congress has also supported One Nation One Election. Mayawati has also asked the MPs to support this bill. But Congress and SP are openly opposed to this bill. At the same time, many parties including TMC, RJD, PDP are also attacking the central government on this bill.

Congress called this bill unconstitutional and said that this bill is a clarion call to change the Constitution. Jairam Ramesh has called this bill unconstitutional. Congress had called an important meeting at 10.30 am today to discuss One Nation One Election in the Congress Parliamentary Party office. A three-line whip has been issued to all Congress Lok Sabha MPs, in which presence in the House has been made mandatory for today's important proceedings.

SP MP Ram Gopal Yadav said that we will oppose this bill and this bill is against the Constitution. At the same time, Akhilesh Yadav has also targeted this bill through a long post. Shiv Sena leader Priyanka Chaturvedi said that this bill is against the Constitution. BJP wants to grab power. We will oppose this bill. Apart from this, many other parties including Tamil Nadu CM Stalin, Mamta Banerjee, JMM have also openly opposed this bill. Mayawati along with BJP, JDU, TDP and YSRCP have announced to support this bill. YSRCP leader Mithun Reddy said that we are already conducting state elections along with general elections. We do not have much problem with this bill. We are in support of it.
