Tarn Taran Police Arrest FBI-Wanted Drug Trafficker, Seize Drugs and Weapons
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a major breakthrough, the Tarn Taran Police have arrested international drug trafficker Shahnaz Singh, also known as Shaun Bhinder, who was wanted by the US FBI. Singh, the leader of a major international drug trafficking gang, was involved in smuggling cocaine from Colombia to the US and Canada.
The arrest follows the recent capture of four of Singh’s associates by US authorities on February 26, 2025. The arrested individuals have been identified as:
1. Amritpal Singh alias Amrit alias Bal
2. Amritpal Singh alias Cheema
3. Taqdeer Singh alias Romi
4. Sarabjit Singh alias Sabi
5. Fernando Valladares alias Franco
During the operation, US authorities recovered 391 kg of methamphetamine, 109 kg of cocaine, and four firearms from the suspects' residences and vehicles. After the operation, Shahnaz fled to India but was tracked down and arrested by the Punjab Police.
This operation highlights the Punjab Police's commitment to a zero-tolerance approach toward drug trafficking and organized crime. Authorities have vowed to continue collaborating with international law enforcement agencies to ensure that Punjab remains free from the influence of drug cartels and criminals.
