Punjab promotes 3 IAS officers to Principal Secretaries and Financial Commissioners, effective January 1

Chandigarh (The Uttam Hindu): The Government of Punjab has announced the promotion of three IAS officers of the 2000 batch to the First Above Supertime Scale (Level 15) in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) pay matrix, effective from January 1, 2025.

The officers promoted are:

Sh. Rahul Tiwari, IAS

Smt. Alaknanda Dayal, IAS

Sh. Kumar Rahul, IAS

With this promotion, the officers have been designated as Principal Secretaries/Financial Commissioners to the Government of Punjab. They will continue to serve in their existing roles but will now operate under the enhanced pay scale until further directives are issued.

The order was issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab, K.A.P. Sinha on behalf of the Governor of Punjab. It underscores the state’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the contributions of its senior IAS officers.

The notification has been forwarded to key offices, including the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions; the Department of Personnel and Training; the Principal Accountant General of Punjab; and the Chief Minister's Office among others for necessary action and information.

This elevation marks a significant step in the professional journeys of the officers, who are expected to bring enhanced administrative efficiency and leadership in their new capacities as Principal Secretaries and Financial Commissioners.
