Blow to AAP in Punjab: Dalbir Goldie Returns to Congress After Contesting Against CM

Sangrur (The Uttam Hindu): A big change has been seen in Punjab politics once again. Former MLA and Youth Congress leader Dalbir Goldy has returned to the Congress. Goldy, who had contested the election from Dhuri against Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, had left the Congress after not getting the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat and joined the Aam Aadmi Party, but he soon became dissatisfied there too.

Talks of returning to the party were going on for a long time, but the process was stuck due to lack of consensus between senior Congress leader Pratap Singh Bajwa and state president Amarinder Singh Raja Vading. During the by-election, Goldy campaigned for Amrita Vading in Gidderbaha, which indicated his return to the Congress.

However, Bajwa's statement - "without me not a leaf moves in the party" - cooled the matter for some time. But now that the relationship between Bajwa and Warring has become cordial, Goldy's return has become possible.

Today, in the presence of the party's Punjab affairs in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, Dalbir Goldie has officially rejoined the Congress.
