Delhi to block entry of freight vehicles for two days, traffic plan unveiled

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In light of the Republic Day rehearsal and main event, the Noida Traffic Department has issued a detailed traffic plan. According to this plan, the entry of freight vehicles into Delhi will be strictly prohibited from 10 PM on January 22 until the rehearsal concludes on January 23 and again from 10 PM on January 25 until the Republic Day celebrations conclude.

This restriction applies to all types of freight vehicles except those transporting essential goods. The traffic advisory has been implemented to ensure smooth proceedings during the full-dress rehearsal and Republic Day parade. Freight vehicles (heavy, medium and light) intending to enter Delhi from Gautam Buddh Nagar will be restricted for security reasons.

Alternate Routes for Freight Vehicles

Restricted vehicles can utilize diversion routes to reach their destinations:

>From Chilla Red Light (Border): Vehicles entering Delhi will be redirected to take a U-turn at Chilla Red Light, use the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, and proceed via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

>From DND (Border): Vehicles approaching Delhi via DND Toll Plaza will be diverted to take a U-turn, then follow the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

>From Kalindi Kunj Yamuna (Border): Vehicles will be diverted before the Yamuna River underpass tri-junction, directing them to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and subsequently to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

>From Yamuna Expressway via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway: Vehicles will be diverted at Faleda Cut, Rabupura, and routed through service roads near Galgotias and Gautam Buddha University. They will proceed via Pusta tri-junction, Honda CL Chowk, Kasna town, and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to their destinations.

>From Yamuna Expressway (Zero Point): Vehicles heading towards Delhi will be diverted at Zero Point towards Pari Chowk, proceeding via the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

This temporary traffic plan aims to minimize congestion and enhance security during the national celebrations.
