Delhi cracks down on loudspeakers police permission now mandatory fines up to ₹1 lakh
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Like UP, strict rules have been implemented on loudspeakers in Delhi. Delhi Police has issued an order and made it clear that loudspeakers or sound systems cannot be used in any public or religious program without written permission. If the rules are violated, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed and the equipment will be confiscated.
Now it is not easy to use loudspeakers in Delhi, fine will be imposed for using them without police permission; Know what are the new guidelines: The sound limit has been fixed according to different areas. In the industrial area, a maximum limit of 75 decibels during the day and 70 decibels at night has been fixed. In residential areas, noise more than 55 decibels during the day and 45 decibels at night is not allowed. In silence zones, this limit has been fixed at 50 and 40 decibels respectively. Delhi police has also warned tent houses and loudspeaker suppliers not to give equipment to anyone without police permission. Strict action will be taken against those who break the rules.
Fines have also been fixed on DG sets according to their capacity. A fine of Rs 1 lakh will be imposed on DG sets above 1000 KVA, Rs 25,000 on 62.5 to 1000 KVA and Rs 10,000 on DG sets up to 62.5 KVA. A fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed on the use of loud equipment in construction works and the equipment will be sealed. If the rules are violated in weddings, religious events and rallies, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed in residential areas and up to Rs 20,000 in silence zones.
