Update: 2024-12-24 15:26 GMT

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On Tuesday evening, cold winds and light drizzle began in Delhi-NCR, causing a drop in temperature and an increase in the chill. Light rain was also reported in Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram. The weather department has predicted more drizzle in the coming days. The change in weather is due to the active western disturbance, which has led to rainfall and an increase in the cold in Delhi-NCR. The drizzle began in the evening, making the weather colder in the capital and nearby cities. Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram also experienced light rainfall. Since morning, there has been cloud movement, and more drizzle is expected.

For the past few days, the region has been experiencing light rainfall. Even on Monday, drizzle occurred during the day. The active western disturbance in North India is responsible for this weather pattern, while snowfall is also taking place in the hilly areas.

In Delhi, the maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded at 20°C, while the minimum temperature was 9.9°C, which is 2.4°C lower than the average. According to the weather department, the weather will remain similar throughout the week, with more rain and fog expected. Dense fog is likely on Wednesday, followed by clouds and light rain on Thursday. The weather department also forecasts thunderstorms and rain on Friday, and drizzle may continue into the weekend.
