New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu):In a shocking incident, criminals have demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh from Union Minister of State for Defence and BJP MP from Ranchi, Sanjay Seth. On Friday evening, Seth received a threatening message on his mobile phone, where the extortionists warned of serious consequences unless the ransom was paid within three days.

The Minister of State for Defence immediately reported the matter to the Delhi DCP, and an investigation was launched. The authorities discovered that the threatening message had been sent from a mobile number located in Kanke, Ranchi.

Sanjay Seth has also filed a formal complaint with Jharkhand's DGP, Anurag Gupta. In response to the threat, Seth stated, “I have informed the police about the extortion call. I remain in constant touch with the public, and Prime Minister Modi’s guidance encourages us to work tirelessly for the welfare of people. The police are investigating the issue, and I have informed the Jharkhand DGP about it.”

Meanwhile, a similar case of death threats has surfaced involving independent MP from Purnia, Pappu Yadav. Yadav has been receiving continuous threats following comments he made about gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. The threats escalated recently when his aide was found to be sending the threatening messages, impersonating one of Bishnoi’s associates. The police have arrested the accused, who has confessed to the crime.

Authorities are continuing their investigations into both cases, and security measures are being heightened for the involved politicians.
