Stampede at Maha Kumbh Prompts Railway to Halt Special Train Services; CM Yogi’s Urgent Appeal

Mahakumbh Nagar (The Uttam Hindu): After the stampede on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya festival on Wednesday in Mahakumbh, the railway has taken a big decision. The railway has canceled the Mahakumbh special trains till further orders. Apart from this, the trains which were to come to Prayagraj have been stopped at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay station. The routes of some trains have been diverted.


At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also appealed to the devotees not to pay attention to any kind of rumour. In a post issued by the Chief Minister's Office, it was said, "Devotees are appealed to bathe at the ghat of Maa Ganga near which they are, do not try to go towards Sangam Nose. Follow the instructions of the administration, cooperate in making arrangements. Do not pay attention to any rumour."


Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath over the phone and inquired about the incident. The Prime Minister is keeping a close eye on the stampede in Prayagraj. Meanwhile, Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda also spoke to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath regarding this stampede. He assured to provide all kinds of medical facilities to all the injured.


Let us tell you that during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, a stampede occurred on the day of Mauni Amavasya on Wednesday. About 30 women, who were going to take a bath in Sangam, were injured in this accident.
