Stadium Lights Fail Mid-Match, Pakistani Batsman Narrowly Escapes Injury – Watch the Dramatic Moment

Mount Maunganui (The Uttam Hindu): New Zealand cricket team defeated Pakistan by 43 runs in the rain affected third and final ODI played in Mount Maunganui on Saturday. With this victory, New Zealand also won the three-match ODI series after the T20 series. The Kiwi team had earlier defeated Pakistan 4-1 in the T20 series. The third ODI was reduced to 42-42 overs due to wet outfield.

A dangerous incident was witnessed during the match when Pakistani batsman Tayyab Tahir narrowly escaped injury. In the 39th over of Pakistan's innings, when Jacob Duffy ran to bowl and threw the ball, suddenly all the lights of the stadium went off. Tayyab Tahir, who was on strike, had to face a fast ball in the dark.

Tahir showed amazing agility and immediately separated himself from the line of the ball and left the crease. The ball passed near the stumps towards the wicketkeeper. This incident caused a commotion on the field and in the commentary box for some time. Thankfully, the ball did not hit any player and a big accident was averted.

Talking about the match, New Zealand batted first and scored 264 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 42 overs. For them, Mariu scored 58 runs in 61 balls and captain Michael Bracewell scored a quick 59 runs in 40 balls. In response, Pakistan's team, chasing the target, was all out after scoring 221 runs in 40 overs. For Pakistan, former captain Babar Azam scored 50 runs in 58 balls, while captain Mohammad Rizwan contributed 37 and Tayyab Tahir contributed 33 runs.
