Sri Muktsar Sahib Police Bust Major Drug Network, Seize 10.5 Kg Opium and ₹35,000
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a significant intelligence-driven operation, the Sri Muktsar Sahib Police has dismantled a major drug network, recovering 10.5 kg of opium and ₹35,000 in drug-related proceeds. The breakthrough came after crucial information was provided by the arrested accused, Raju, son of Balveer. Based on this, an FIR was filed on March 6, 2025, at Police Station Sadar Malout, leading to the initial seizure of 3.5 kg of opium. Following further investigation and establishing links to the larger network, the police team carried out a high-impact operation, recovering an additional 7 kg of opium.
This successful operation is considered a major setback to the drug trade in the region. The police are actively working to trace the entire supply chain and apprehend the key figures involved to dismantle the network fully.
"Our fight against drugs is unrelenting. We are committed to rooting out this menace and will continue our efforts," the police stated.
