Moscow (The Uttam Hindu): Russian media is viewing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's heated debate with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance at the White House as a 'good news'. At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin's allies are also very happy with this.

Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council and former president, wrote on Telegram that the US president had given Ukraine a “hard slap” but it was not enough – we must stop military aid to the Nazi machine (Zelensky government). State-controlled media outlet RT wrote on Twitter about the Trump-Zelensky meeting: “Zelensky is sitting with his hands between his legs, while the US president and vice president are aiming at him.” According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, it was a “miracle” that Trump and Vice President JD Vance somehow managed to refrain from attacking Zelensky. “I think Zelensky’s biggest lie was his claim in the White House that the Kiev regime was alone in 2022, without any support,” she wrote on Telegram.

Meanwhile, Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, described the heated exchange in the Oval Office as 'historic'. Dmitriev was one of Moscow's negotiators at the Russian-American talks held in Saudi Arabia on February 18. While most European leaders supported Zelensky and Ukraine after the Trump-Zelensky exchange at the White House, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban was seen praising Trump. According to Putin's friend Orban, Trump 'stands bravely for peace. Even if it is difficult for many to digest.' He wrote on X, "Powerful people make peace, weak people make war." Yevgeny Primakov, head of Russia's International Humanitarian Cooperation Agency, wrote on Telegram, "Everyone saw everything. I just want to draw attention to what the nature of the Kiev regime is: provocation, bloody provocation. Right now Zelensky and his colleagues are interested in provocations that can lead to mass deaths of peaceful civilians, something that has never happened before."

Earlier on Friday, President Zelensky's meeting with US President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance in the Oval Office turned into a noisy heated debate. US leaders accused Zelensky of disrespecting the White House and the US for his remarks. At the same time, the Ukrainian President accused him of not realizing the frustration of being a victim of invasion. The two sides did not sign an agreement. The agreement was aimed at establishing the US right over Ukraine's reserves of rare minerals and other natural resources in exchange for helping Kiev's war efforts.
