New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The women of Delhi might receive a major gift from the government on **International Women's Day (March 8)**, as the Delhi government is expected to fulfill its election promise of providing **₹2500 per month** under the **Mahila Samman Yojana**.
During the assembly elections, the **BJP had pledged** financial assistance for women under this scheme. Now, after securing victory, it is believed that the government will make an official announcement at a grand event dedicated to women’s empowerment.

Delhi **BJP President Virendra Sachdeva** has hinted that the party is set to organize a **big program in honor of women** on **March 8**, where an important announcement may be made regarding the scheme. When asked about the event, he stated,
*"International Women's Day is on March 8, but in our country, every day should be celebrated as Women's Day. Our government is committed to working for every section of society."*
### **CM Rekha Gupta Assures Fulfillment of Promises**
Delhi **Chief Minister Rekha Gupta** also reiterated on Sunday that all promises made to women during the elections will be honored. She emphasized that despite inheriting an **empty treasury from the previous AAP government**, financial commitments towards public welfare, including the Mahila Samman Yojana, will be met.
*"The previous government has left behind a financial crisis, but we are determined to keep our word. Every promise made to the people of Delhi will be fulfilled, and those who looted and deceived the public will be held accountable,"* said CM Gupta.
The government has already **conducted several meetings** regarding the implementation of the **Mahila Samman Yojana**, and sources indicate that despite financial constraints, the administration is working on **ensuring financial support for Delhi’s women**.
