Republic Day Terror Attack Plot Uncovered in Jammu and Kashmir: High Alert Issued in Doda, Samba and Kathua

Doda (The Uttam Hindu): High alert has been issued in three districts regarding Republic Day. The boundaries of these three districts are connected together. Terrorist attacks have also taken place in these districts last year. There is information that terrorists can attack Kathua, Kishtwar and Ramban. Recently, two groups of terrorists were seen in the upper areas of Doda. However, the agencies are not able to find out whether these terrorists are old or a new group.

Last year, five army personnel were martyred in Doda. While four terrorists were killed. But the presence of terrorists is being seen intermittently. Doda is adjacent to the border of Kishtwar, Kathua and Himachal Pradesh, so the agencies are not able to find out the exact number of terrorists active in the district.

Doda SSP Sandeep Mehta says that the police have intensified their operations against anti-national elements, especially the Over Ground Workers (OGWs) who assist terrorists. The police have filed chargesheets against nine such people in the last two weeks. He said that our units located in the outskirts of the district are on maximum alert. Our focus is on anti-national elements so that the terror ecosystem can be eliminated.

Alert issued on the border too

Apart from Doda, alert has been issued on Jammu, Samba and Kathua border too. Special instructions have been given to the police posted in these three districts. DIG Shiv Kumar says that additional police personnel have been deployed in all three districts. Because there have been frequent attempts of infiltration from across the border on Republic Day. This cannot be ignored.
