Canara Bank Wins Inter Bank T-20 Premier League Cricket Tournament

Panchkula (The Uttam Hindu): In a thrilling finale to the Interbank League Cricket Tournament, Canara Bank emerged as the undisputed champions, defeating Central Bank of India by 98 runs at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium on Sunday. Batting first, Canara Bank scored mammoth total of 205/4 with the help of Sachin Dogra(55) and AmandeepArora(68) . In reply , Central Bank of Indiawere bowled out for 108 in 18.2 overs withthe help of captain Jogender Kumar (4 wickets) and Sachin Dogra(2 wickets).

Teams of eight banks namely Canara Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Reserve Bank of India(RBI), Indian Bank, Yes Bank, Central Bank of India (CBI), Punjab & Sind Bank(PSB) and Punjab State Co-operative Bank (PSCB) participated in the Inter Bank Premier league Cricket tournament. The tournament showcased some intense interbank cricketing action, with Canara Bank standing out as the most dominant force throughout. They cruised through all the league stages and knockout stages without suffering a single defeat and their commanding performance in the final was a perfect culmination to their flawless campaign.

Canara Bank also swept all major individual awards. AshishWalia was declared best batsman and player of the tournament.Somveer of Canara Bank earned Best Bowler of the tournament award and Jogender Kumar of Canara bank won Player of the Match title. With this championship, Canara Bank has not only claimed the title but also cemented their reputation as the powerhouse of interbank cricket. Whole tournament was played at Tau Devi LalCricket Stadium, Panchkula.
