Mumbai (The Uttam Hindu): Several FIRs have been lodged in different states against podcaster Ranveer Allahabadia over controversial remarks he made about parents during a YouTube show. In response, Allahabadia has approached the Supreme Court, requesting that all the FIRs be consolidated. Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjeev Khanna mentioned that the petition will be heard soon but clarified that the request for an expedited hearing cannot be addressed informally. He directed that the proper legal procedures be followed and advised contacting the registry first. No hearing date has been provided yet. Allahabadia has also filed a petition for anticipatory bail. In parallel, Mumbai Police have summoned Allahabadia for questioning today, after he failed to appear when summoned earlier in the week. Police suggest his absence was due to concerns about media attention but they have made it clear that he must appear, as he cannot avoid questioning for any reason.

Additionally, comedian Samay Raina has been sent a summon to appear within five days. Moreover, a case has been filed against Allahabadia and other comedians, including Ashish Chanchlani, Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija, in Assam. The Assam Police have coordinated with their counterparts in Maharashtra and the accused have been summoned to appear in Assam within four days. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also intervened, sending notices to Allahabadia and several other comedians. They are required to appear before the NCW in Delhi on February 17 to address the matter.
