Punjab Counter Intelligence Foils ISI-Backed Terror Plot, Arrests 2 Key Operatives
Ferozepur (The Uttam Hindu): The Counter Intelligence Ferozepur unit of Punjab Police achieved a major success by foiling a terrorist plot on Sunday. This information was given by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav on his X handle. According to the post, the police have arrested Jagga Singh and Manjinder Singh, two key members of the terror module operated by Germany-based Gurpreet Singh alias Goldy Dhillon. Both of them are close associates of Goldy Brar and Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This action foiled the plan of Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI to disrupt peace in Punjab.
The post said that the police recovered a dangerous improvised explosive device (IED) weighing 2.8 kg, which included 1.6 kg RDX and a remote control. Initial investigation has revealed that this explosive was to be used for a major terrorist attack. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh on the main conspirator Goldie Dhillon in this case. A case has been registered under the Explosive Substances Act at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) police station in Mohali in connection with this incident.
