'People Are Being Misled in the Name of Waqf, Forced Out of Their Homes and Killed': CM Yogi On Murshidabad Violence
Lucknow (The Uttam Hindu): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday lashed out at opposition parties for opposing the Waqf Amendment Act. CM Yogi accused the opposition of misleading people on the issue of Waqf and said that violence is being instigated in the name of Waqf Act. He also expressed concern over the Murshidabad violence in West Bengal.
Addressing the Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Samaroh in Lucknow, CM Yogi said, "You must have seen that some of the people who occupy the huts and lands of Dalits must be associated with these parties. We are surprised that this (West Bengal) is the same state where lakhs of acres of land were forcibly occupied in the name of Waqf. They do not have any papers or revenue records. Now when the Waqf Amendment Bill has been passed in Parliament and action is being taken on it, violence is being instigated against it."
He said that three Hindus were brutally murdered in Murshidabad, West Bengal. They were dragged out of their homes and killed. Who are all these people? These are the same Dalit, deprived and poor Hindus who are going to get the most benefit from this land. They fear that if Dalits, deprived and poor get high rise buildings, then their vote bank will end, the politics of misleading will end forever. That is why they are inciting violence.
CM Yogi said, “Three years ago, Rajya Sabha MP and former DGP of Uttar Pradesh Brijlal had written a book. That book was based on a comparative study of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and two great Dalit warriors at the time of independence. On one side was Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, who had said that his beginning and end would be as an Indian and on the other side was Yogendra Nath Mandal, who had supported Pakistan, but he could not live there even for a year. Bangladeshi Hindus are still suffering the punishment for the acts of Yogendra Nath Mandal. All the tortured and oppressed Hindus living in Bangladesh are Dalits. No political party from Congress, SP and Mamata Banerjee's party raised voice in their (Bangladeshi Hindus) favor. Only BJP raised voice in their favor. We have to protect every Hindu.”
