Panic in Meerut: Stampede at Pandit Mishra's Katha Injures Several Women and Elderly Participants

Meerut (The Uttam Hindu):  An incident similar to Hathras has come to light in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. There was a stampede during Pandit Pradeep Mishra's Katha. According to the information, many women and elderly people got buried in the stampede. Senior officials have reached the spot, SSP has ordered an investigation into the incident.

According to the information, more than 1 lakh devotees reach to listen to the story every day and after two hours this number reaches around 1.5 lakh. It is being told that the bouncers stopped the women going inside at the entry gate and meanwhile the pushing and shoving started. Due to the sudden increase in the crowd, there was a stampede here. People started falling on each other. Many VVIPs have also reached Meerut to listen to this story. The story is being organized in Shatabdinagar, Meerut. The police has taken the injured to the hospital. The officials have appealed not to pay attention to any rumors. Maintain peace. At the same time, after the stampede, the organizers also appeared alert and were seen trying to calm the crowd.

Let us tell you that the Katha is being held since 5th December. The Katha starts at 1 pm and continues till 4 pm. Every day lakhs of devotees are reaching to listen to the Katha. 7 parking lots have been made by the organizers for parking the vehicles. At the same time, about 1000 policemen are deployed on the spot. Regarding this matter, the SSP has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He said that strict action will be taken against the culprits. According to the police, some people have suffered minor injuries.
