New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): After a series of baseless statements from top leaders, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unexpectedly called for peace in the wake of the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Addressing a passing-out parade at the Pak Military Academy, Sharif emphasized the need to end the blame game and expressed Pakistan's willingness to participate in a neutral, transparent, and credible investigation.

Pakistan Reacts to India's Decision on Indus Water Treaty

India's decision to reconsider the Indus Water Treaty following the Pahalgam attack has rattled Pakistan. Sharif warned that any attempt to reduce or divert Pakistan's water would be met with full force. "We are fully prepared to respond to any misadventure," he asserted, highlighting the country's 240 million people stand behind their armed forces.

Pakistan's Stance on Indus River

Earlier, Pakistani leader Bilawal Bhutto sparked controversy with a statement on the Indus River, saying, "Either water will flow in the Indus River or the blood of the person who wants to snatch our share." Sharif echoed this sentiment, stressing that peace is a priority but integrity and security would never be compromised.

A Shift in Pakistan's Tone

The shift in Pakistan's tone comes after a period of heightened tensions with India. While Sharif's call for peace may signal a potential change in approach, the situation remains volatile, and Pakistan's response to India's actions will be closely watched.
