Officer Showered with Money as Currency Notes Pile Up; Viral Video Sparks Buzz

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking video has gone viral on social media, showing people showering currency notes on an officer seated in an office. It is being claimed that angry villagers resorted to this unusual form of protest after being asked for a bribe. However, Dainik Uttam Hindu has not verified the authenticity of the video.

The 2.14-minute video, where individuals are heard speaking in Gujarati suggests that it may have been recorded in Gujarat although the specific location remains unclear. In the footage, visibly furious villagers adopt this striking method of protest leaving the officer stunned and sitting with folded hands.

The crowded office is filled with men and women, all throwing notes at the officer. Currency notes are scattered across the officer’s body, the table and the room forming piles of ₹500 and ₹200 notes. Voices in the video repeatedly say, "Take money, take more money," while one person mentions Bismillah Society complaining about the lack of water there. Slogans such as "Down with the Chief Officer" can also be heard. The officer, overwhelmed by the situation, remains silent with his hands folded.

The video has sparked a wide range of reactions on social media, with users sharing their opinions on this unusual form of protest.
