No Vehicles Allowed! Administration Implements Ban in Maha Kumbh Mela Zone

Mahakumbh Nagar (The Uttam Hindu): The bathing festival Maghi Purnima is on Wednesday, for which the police has implemented a traffic and diversion plan. Under this, the administration has banned all types of vehicles in the Mahakumbh fair area. However, during this time administrative and medical vehicles will be allowed to enter the fair area. This arrangement will be in force till 8 am on February 13 or till the crowd ends.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also given strict guidelines regarding traffic and crowd management during the Maha Kumbh. He held a meeting with administrative officials and police officials through video conferencing, in which the preparations for the Maha Kumbh bathing festival to be held on the occasion of Magh Purnima were reviewed.

The Chief Minister said that the number of devotees in Maha Kumbh is increasing and special attention is needed on the day of Magh Purnima on February 12. He directed that the parking lot should be operated properly and the parking facility for more than five lakh vehicles should be properly utilized. Apart from this, full care should be taken that no unauthorized vehicle can enter the fair premises.

The Chief Minister said that there should be no queues of vehicles on the roads and traffic jams should not occur. The number of shuttle buses should be increased for the movement of devotees from the parking to the fair premises. He told the administration that the safety of the devotees should be ensured at all the railway stations of Prayagraj and regular arrangements of trains should be maintained.

While giving instructions to pay special attention to cleanliness, the Chief Minister said that the identity of Maha Kumbh is linked to cleanliness, therefore the Sangam and fair premises should be cleaned regularly. Adequate supply of water should be maintained in Ganga and Yamuna.

Keeping in view the safety and convenience of all the devotees, many police officers along with 28 administrative officers of ADM and SDM level have been deployed on Tuesday. The services of all of them should be taken as per requirement. Police officers should be engaged in traffic management.
