NIA's High-Stakes Operation in Sonipat Uncovers Massive Crore-Scale Hawala Network

Sonipat (The Uttam Hindu): Several teams of NIA reached two villages in Haryana's Sonipat district to conduct raids in connection with the hawala case. It is being said that crores of rupees have been swindled through hawala. According to the information, one team reached Shahjadpur village in Sonipat and is conducting raids at the house of Himanshu (son of Jaiprakash). The other team is in Bhuri village. It is also conducting raids at the house of Yogesh (son of Prem). Yogesh works in Gurugram.

The investigating agency is currently questioning the family members of Himanshu and Yogesh in connection with this case. The team is also scrutinizing the documents kept in the house of both of them. It is being told that both of them have property worth crores. They are accused of fraud worth crores, due to which the investigating agency reached to conduct raids. NIA has not given any statement in this regard yet.

In Sonipat, cases of extortion have increased a lot in the last few days. Different gangs are calling businessmen and demanding extortion from them. After calling, these gangs transfer the money received from the businessmen to the accounts of their relatives and people they know.

Recently, NIA also raided the neighbouring state of Punjab. On 11 December, NIA raided several districts of Punjab. NIA team raided Bathinda, Muktsar Sahib, Mansa districts. This raid was conducted with the aim of catching drug smugglers.
