Nagpur (The Uttam Hindu): Nagpur witnessed a significant administrative crackdown today as authorities demolished the illegally constructed portion of Faheem Khan’s house — the alleged mastermind behind last week's violence in the city. The demolition was carried out early in the morning by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, with a large deployment of security personnel to maintain law and order.

The riots, which erupted in the Mahal area of Nagpur — near the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters — left a dozen policemen and several civilians injured. Numerous vehicles were torched, and shops were vandalized during the chaos. According to police, Faheem Khan, a burqa seller by profession and former city chief of the Minority Democratic Party, is accused of releasing provocative videos and statements that incited the crowd.

Faheem Khan was arrested last Tuesday and presented before the court. Authorities have registered a case of sedition against him and five others. The portion of his house found to be constructed on encroached land was demolished, while the remaining legal structure was left untouched. His history of controversial remarks, including derogatory statements against the police, has also drawn attention amid the ongoing investigation.
