Kerala Grieves: Five Medical Students Dead After Head-On Collision with Bus

Kerala (The Uttam Hindu): Five first-year medical students tragically lost their lives in a head-on collision with a state transport bus in Kerala's Alappuzha district on Monday night. The victims, identified as Devanandan and Muhammad Ibrahim from Lakshadweep, along with Ayush Shaji, Sreedeep Valsan, and Muhammed Jabbar, were all students at TD Medical College in Alappuzha. The accident occurred around 10 pm in the Kalarcode area, during heavy rainfall. 


The collision caused severe damage to the car, leaving it mangled. Rescue teams had to use cutting equipment to extract the victims from the wreckage. Despite the intense impact, all of the injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.

While the bus was also damaged in the crash, the passengers onboard only sustained minor injuries. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, as the tragic incident has left the local community in shock.
