Jalandhar crash: 3 dead as car collides with truck, car shattered
Jalandhar (The Uttam Hindu): A tragic road accident occurred near Pathankot Bypass on the Jalandhar National Highway, claiming the lives of four people in a devastating collision between a truck and a car. The car, bearing the registration number PB 08 5018, was torn apart in the crash, and the bodies of the victims had to be extricated using a crane.
The accident, which took place near Hotel Ravneer Classic, was so violent that the car was completely destroyed. There were six people in the vehicle at the time of the collision. According to reports, four individuals, including a child, lost their lives, while two others sustained injuries. The injured victims, including the child and a woman, were rushed to a nearby hospital, with the child suffering a broken arm and the woman sustaining other injuries. The truck involved in the crash overturned and came to a halt in the opposite lane after the collision. The truck driver, however, fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. All vehicles involved in the accident were traveling from Amritsar at the time.
Passersby quickly responded, helping to pull the survivors from the wreckage and transport them to the hospital. Some of the victims had to be freed from the wreckage using cutting tools. According to ASI Satpal, the child and woman were safely taken to the hospital. The injured were admitted to a private hospital located along the highway. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem, and the police have launched an investigation into the incident. Police are currently searching for the truck driver, who is believed to have fled the scene after the accident.
