IPL Milestone Alert: Player Smashes Record at Age 24
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu)- Sunrisers Hyderabad team finally showed the performance they were expected to perform in IPL 2025. Although this was only Sunrisers' second win in their sixth match this season, Abhishek Sharma's stormy century has caught everyone's attention. Abhishek, who played a fiery 141 runs in 55 balls, has also been named the Player of the Match because on the basis of this performance, Sunrisers achieved the target of 246 runs given by Punjab Kings in 18.3 overs with the loss of just two wickets.
This was Abhishek's first century in IPL. The special thing is that he has scored two centuries in T20 International cricket. With these centuries, Abhishek has two big records to his name. This left-handed batting sensation has made the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in IPL as well as T20 International. Abhishek's score of 141 runs is not only the highest individual score by an Indian batsman, his innings of 135 runs against England is also the biggest T20 innings for an Indian. Abhishek played this innings at Wankhede Stadium in February this year.
Abhishek Sharma also made a big record for Sunrisers Hyderabad in terms of scoring a personal score. This is also the highest individual score made for this team as Abhishek has broken David Warner's record. Earlier, no batsman had hit 10 sixes in an innings for Sunrisers. Abhishek hit 24 boundaries in this innings. He completed his century in 19 balls and he has done this three times in less than 20 balls.
Abhishek took 40 balls to reach the century, which is the fifth fastest innings in IPL history. Among Indian batsmen, Yusuf Pathan holds the record for the fastest century, which he scored in 37 balls. At the same time, the overall record for the fastest century in IPL is in the name of Chris Gayle, who played this innings for RCB in 2013 in just 30 balls.
