‘If Pak Returns PoK, Then…’ – Jaishankar’s Strong Response to Pakistani Journalist

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar is known for his quick wit. During his visits to many countries including America and Britain, he has been giving very accurate answers to journalists. The answer he gave to a Pakistani journalist on the Kashmir issue at a think tank event in Britain left him speechless.

India has illegally occupied Kashmir. Donald Trump has friendly relations with PM Narendra Modi. Can PM Narendra Modi use these relations to solve the Kashmir issue? There are 70 lakh people in Kashmir and 10 lakh soldiers are deployed to control them. 

The Pakistani journalist had so many questions that S. Jaishankar started answering and Nisar was left speechless. He bluntly said that we have almost found a solution to the Kashmir issue. We have also taken steps in this direction. The first is that Article 370 has been removed. Apart from this, the second step is that we have also taken steps for economic growth. Due to this, Jammu and Kashmir is developing rapidly. He said that the third step is of social justice. S. Jaishankar said that now there is no place for any kind of social injustice in Kashmir. In this way, we have almost solved the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. Now only that part is left, which has been taken by Pakistan from illegal occupation. If Pakistan returns that part, then the entire issue will be resolved. The Pakistani journalist became silent after this blunt answer of Jaishankar, while the audience present there kept clapping for a long time.
