“Can’t Wait!” — Elon Musk Confirms India Visit, Calls It an Honour

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk said on Saturday that it was an honour for him to speak to PM Narendra Modi and he is eagerly looking forward to visiting India later this year.

The billionaire businessman and PM Modi had earlier discussed a number of issues, including possibilities of cooperation in the areas of technology and innovation. Elon Musk posted on his social media platform X, "It was an honour to speak to PM Modi. I look forward to visiting India later this year." PM Modi discussed a number of issues with the Tesla CEO.

PM Modi said in a post on X, "Talked to Elon Musk on a wide range of issues, including those covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for cooperation in the areas of technology and innovation. India is committed to furthering its partnership with the US in these areas." Earlier, PM Modi had met Musk in Washington during his visit to the US in February this year. After the meeting, PM Modi had written on X, "Had a good meeting with Elon Musk in Washington DC. We discussed a wide range of issues such as space, mobility, technology and innovation, including issues he is extremely passionate about. I spoke about India's efforts towards reform and advancing 'minimum government, maximum governance'."

In another post, PM Modi shared glimpses of some moments spent with Musk's children, captioning it, "It was also a pleasure to meet Elon Musk's family and talk on a wide range of topics!" PM Modi's conversation with Musk comes at a time when Tesla is set to enter the Indian market. The development also comes against the backdrop of ongoing talks for a bilateral trade deal between India and the US.
