Bilaspur (The Uttam Hindu): In a tragic turn of events, the body of Vimal Negi, a Chief Engineer at the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL), was recovered from the Bhakra Dam in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The recovery was made on Tuesday, nearly 10 days after Negi went missing. According to eyewitnesses, local fishermen spotted the body floating in the dam early Tuesday morning and immediately informed the police. A team of police officials rushed to the spot and retrieved the body from the dam. The police have taken custody of the body and have called Negi's family members for identification. Although the police are yet to confirm the identity of the deceased, the family members have expressed little doubt that the body is that of Vimal Negi.

Negi, a resident of Shimla, had been working as a Chief Engineer at the HPPCL. He was reported missing on March 10, after he failed to return home from work. His family members had launched a frantic search for him but to no avail. As the news of Negi's disappearance spread, his family members approached the Chief Minister, Revenue Minister and police administration seeking their help in tracing him. The family members had also expressed suspicion that Negi might have been under pressure due to some work-related issues, which could have taken a toll on his mental health. The recovery of Negi's body has sent shockwaves among his family members, colleagues, and friends. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, and a post-mortem examination is being conducted to determine the cause of death. The incident has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of employees working in sensitive and high-pressure roles. The authorities have promised to take necessary steps to ensure that such incidents do not recur in the future.
