BJP Unveils First Phase of Delhi Poll Manifesto: Big Promises for Women and Know What's More

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released the first phase of its manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections unveiling a series of ambitious promises. BJP President JP Nadda announced that under the proposed Mahila Samridhi Yojana, women will receive ₹2,500 monthly, and LPG cylinders will be subsidized at ₹500 with two free cylinders provided annually during Holi and Diwali. Pregnant women will also benefit from ₹21,000 and six nutritious kits under an expanded Maternity Protection Scheme. Additionally, the BJP has pledged to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme in Delhi offering ₹10 lakh health insurance to senior citizens above 70 years and extending coverage to 51 lakh beneficiaries.

Highlighting its plans for governance, the BJP vowed to investigate alleged corruption in the Mohalla Clinics focusing on medicine contracts and ₹300 crore in irregularities. Senior citizens' pensions will increase from ₹2,000 to ₹2,500 for those aged 60–70, and to ₹3,000 for those above 70. The party also announced the launch of the Atal Canteen Scheme, providing meals for ₹5 in slums. BJP assured voters that ongoing welfare schemes under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government would not be discontinued but strengthened with corruption-free implementation.

Meanwhile, AAP and Congress have also rolled out their promises. AAP has pledged free electricity, water, bus travel and medical treatment for senior citizens above 60 years in both public and private hospitals. Congress, under its Mehngai Mukti Yojana promised LPG cylinders at ₹500, free electricity up to 300 units, free ration kits and health insurance of ₹25 lakh. Both parties have also committed to financial assistance for women with AAP proposing ₹2,100 monthly and Congress ₹2,500.
