New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu); In a dramatic turn of events, Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition, and Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra were stopped by the police at the Uttar Pradesh border today while en route to the state. Despite their attempt to move forward, their convoy was halted, leading to a lengthy struggle before they were eventually sent back to Delhi. All Congress leaders and workers returned to the capital as well.

The police had stepped up security at the UP border, causing severe traffic disruptions. To block the convoy, the authorities had already shut down traffic, creating significant inconvenience for local commuters. Many were unable to attend important events, such as funerals or court hearings, due to the severe traffic jam.

After being stuck for hours, frustrated locals expressed their anger towards the Congress leaders. During the protests, some residents clashed with Congress workers, even slapping them repeatedly in a heated confrontation. Following the chaos, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and other Congress MPs resumed their journey back to Parliament.
