Kalanaur (The Uttam Hindu): A bomb explosion from a mine planted by anti-national elements across the barbed wire on the international border of Gurdaspur's BSF 58 Battalion's BOP Chautra area injured BSF jawan Sohan Singh on Wednesday. Following this, a red alert has been issued.
After the bomb blast across the barbed wire, the BSF issued a red alert along the entire international border with Pakistan on Thursday. Additionally, the area where the bomb explosion occurred has been completely sealed off. The BSF is conducting a search of the area with the help of sniffer dogs. Two other bombs found in the area have been defused. Currently, there is a ban on farmers entering the blast zone. Due to the search operation along the Pakistan border in Gurdaspur, no farmer was allowed to cross the barbed wire throughout the day. Officials from various BSF battalions under the Gurdaspur sector are thoroughly checking farmers and laborers who are attempting to view the ripened wheat crops across the barbed wire.
Late Wednesday night, the discovery of three bombs near the India-Pakistan international border increased the concerns of the BSF and various security agencies. A case has been filed against unknown individuals at the Dorangla police station based on statements by BSF personnel. According to BSF sources, these bombs were planted by anti-national elements based in Pakistan. Multiple teams have been formed to investigate the case from all angles. However, BSF officials are refusing to provide further details on the matter.
