A Fresh Start for 2025: LPG Prices Fall, Bringing Relief to Consumers

New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): On January 1, 2025, oil marketing companies offered relief to the common man by reducing the prices of the 19-kilogram commercial LPG cylinder. However, domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.

In Delhi, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has been revised to ₹1804, down from ₹1818.50, reflecting a reduction of ₹14.50. The price in Mumbai is now ₹1756, while in Chennai, it stands at ₹1966, and in Kolkata, it is ₹1911. This price reduction follows a series of price hikes over the past six months. Between July and December 2024, the prices of commercial cylinders consistently increased, with Delhi seeing a rise of ₹172.5, Kolkata and Chennai ₹171, and Mumbai ₹173.

Domestic LPG cylinder prices, however, remain unchanged. The current prices are ₹803 in Delhi, ₹829 in Kolkata, ₹802.50 in Mumbai, and ₹818.50 in Chennai. The last reduction in domestic LPG prices occurred in March 2024, when they were lowered by ₹100. Prior to that, a significant reduction of ₹200 was made on August 30, 2023, bringing the price to ₹903.
