Sunam Udham Singh Wala/Sangrur (The Uttam Hindu): The Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been continuously maintaining its commitment to provide best infrastructure and quality education in the government schools of the state for the last three years. This was stated by Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today while inaugurating development works worth Rs 2.51 crore in six government schools of Sunam Udham Singh Wala Assembly Constituency under Shiksha Kranti.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora said that the Punjab Government has launched the Punjab Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan to further improve government schools, under which every facility is being provided in schools. He said that the previous governments in Punjab had completely forgotten both the education and health sectors, but the Mann government made these two sectors the main axis of development and this is the reason that the government schools of Punjab are today leaving private schools behind in terms of education system and facilities. He said that in the last three years, more than 9000 students have left private schools and joined government schools and this has been possible because the Mann government is transforming the government schools of Punjab and creating a new Punjab, where special attention is being paid to conducive environment for studies, state-of-the-art education system, educational tours to foreign countries to improve the teaching style of school teachers, Wi-Fi facility for studies in schools, boundary walls of schools, security guards, construction of new classrooms, clean toilets for students, playgrounds, clean drinking water, regular recruitment of teachers and fulfilling every need. He said that due to the excellent educational environment provided by the Punjab Government, 189 students of government schools of Punjab have made fame by passing the JEE examination, among whom Roshan Kumar, a brilliant student of Government Senior Secondary School, Badrukha is also included.
Cabinet Minister Aman Arora today launched development projects like science lab, library, physics lab, bio lab, computer lab, resource room at Government Senior Secondary School and Government Primary School Badrukhan at a cost of Rs 1.98 crore under Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan. After this, he laid the foundation stone of new classroom to be built at Government High School Takipur at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakhs, new classroom to be built at Government Elementary School Rattoke at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakhs. After this, he laid the foundation stone of new rooms to be built at Government Primary School Sahoke and Government Primary School Dhadrian at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakhs. Apart from this, along with laying the foundation stone of a room to be built at a cost of Rs 9.55 lakhs in Government Primary School Togawal, the boundary wall of the school constructed at a cost of Rs 15 lakhs was also inaugurated.
The Cabinet Minister appealed to the parents and teachers of the students to involve more and more children and youth in sports activities so that the objectives of the de-addiction campaign launched by the government to make Punjab drug free can be achieved. He also said that we are hopeful that in the coming times, government schools will prove to be better than private schools in every respect. He said that the Punjab Government is committed to provide the best facilities to the students because only education can play an important role in giving the right direction to the future of children and youth and making it secure.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Aman Arora and Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Rishi were also felicitated by the managers of various schools, administrative committees and in-charges of Gram Panchayats. On this occasion, SDM Charanjot Singh Walia, District Education Officer Tarvinder Kaur along with many Sarpanchs and village residents were also present.
