4 Naxalites Killed, Head Constable Martyred in Abujhgarh Encounter; Search Operation Underway
Raipur (The Uttam Hindu): In a fierce encounter in the Abujhmad region of Chhattisgarh, security forces have neutralized four Naxalites and recovered weapons, including AK-47 and SLR rifles. However, a head constable from the Dantewada District Reserve Guard (DRG) was martyred during the operation.
The encounter is ongoing in the border area between the Naxal-affected Narayanpur and Dantewada districts. According to police officials, the clash began in the Abujhmad area when a joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Special Task Force (STF) launched an anti-Naxal operation. The Naxalites opened fire on the security forces around 6:00 PM, prompting the forces to retaliate.
Intermittent gunfire continues in the region. IG Bastar, P. Sundarraj, stated that the operation is part of continuous action against Naxalites in the Abujhmad area. A detailed report will be released once the operation concludes. Teams from the DRG and STF across four districts are actively involved in the ongoing operation to combat Naxalite insurgency in the region.
