₹100 for murder: See what a school student did with his fellow classmate for ₹100
Maharashtra (The Uttam Hindu): A student from St. Sebastian English School in Daund Tehsil reported to her teachers that another student had forged his parents' signature. In response to the complaint, the male student allegedly became enraged and offered a ₹100 contract to a minor from a different class, instructing him to assault and kill the girl.
The principal and two teachers are said to have attempted to cover up the incident in order to safeguard the school's reputation. However, the matter was eventually reported and a case has been filed at the Daund police station. The FIR includes charges against the principal, a class teacher and another teacher for allegedly subjecting the minor student to mental harassment and negatively impacting her academic performance by attempting to conceal the incident.
Last month, a 13-year-old boy was arrested in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh for allegedly murdering a 9-year-old two months earlier. The boy believed that the death of his classmate would force the closure of the boarding school allowing him to return home.
Earlier, police had reported that the body of the 9-year-old boy was found in the backseat of the school director's car on September 26. Authorities had suspected that the director and his family had 'sacrificed' the boy to bring attention to the school and resolve personal family issues. Following the discovery, five people were arrested on charges of murder and tampering with evidence. However, on Thursday, Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha revealed that after interviewing other students, they learned that the 13-year-old had been inquiring about ways to get the school shut down. Upon questioning, the boy confessed to killing the victim with a towel.
"He believed that with the child's death, the school would be forced to close and he could leave," Sinha stated.
