Mansa (The Uttam Hindu): A shocking incident has emerged from Borawal village in Mansa, where an obsessed lover brutally murdered a married woman and later took his own life. The deceased woman has been identified as Manjit Kaur, while the man was identified as Major Singh.

Illicit Relationship Revealed

According to the statement given by the woman’s husband to the police, his wife had an illicit relationship with Major Singh, who lived nearby. However, she had grown to despise him and tried to distance herself. Despite this, Major Singh continued to harass her and refused to let her go.

Kidnapped, Attacked, and Burned Alive

The husband stated that on the evening of the incident, his wife was returning home after her stitching work when Major Singh kidnapped her and took her to his house. He followed them and witnessed Major Singh hitting his wife on the head with an iron rod, rendering her unconscious, and then setting her on fire, leading to her death.

Major Singh Commits Suicide

After the heinous act, Major Singh fled the scene but later that evening committed suicide by hanging himself at his home.

Police Investigation Underway

The police have taken both bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem examination. They assured that appropriate legal action is being taken. The incident has left the entire village in shock and disbelief.
