He Claimed His Son Was Dead — But the Truth Was Far More Twisted
New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In a bizarre case of insurance fraud, a father and son from Najafgarh, Delhi, orchestrated a fake death drama to claim ₹1 crore. The father, Satish, filed a complaint at Najafgarh police station on March 5, claiming that his son, Gagan, had died after being hit by a bike rider. According to the report, Gagan's last rites were conducted in Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, without a post-mortem. Soon after, Satish submitted documents to claim the insurance amount.
However, discrepancies in the story raised police suspicion. During investigation, officers questioned relatives and visited the cremation ground in Hapur, only to find no evidence supporting the claims. Further probe revealed that Gagan was, in fact, alive and in hiding. The entire incident — from the false accident to the cremation — was part of a conspiracy involving Gagan, his father Satish, a bike rider, and a lawyer.
Both Satish and Gagan have been taken into custody by the Hapur police. A case of fraud and criminal conspiracy has been registered against them. Authorities are continuing their investigation to identify all individuals involved and ensure appropriate legal action is taken.
