A wedding ceremony in Panipat, Haryana turned into a chaotic battleground when a disagreement over a lehenga escalated into a violent brawl, ultimately leading to the marriage being called off. The drama unfolded on February 23, 2025, when the groom's family from Amritsar arrived in Panipat with their baraat, only to be met with objections from the bride's family over the lehenga they had brought. The bride's family insisted that their daughter wear a lehenga they had purchased from Chandni Chowk for Rs. 40,000, sparking a heated argument. Accusations flew back and forth, with the bride's family alleging that the groom's family had provided artificial jewelry instead of real gold. The groom's family, on the other hand, claimed that they had been pressured into buying expensive gifts and had even taken a loan to build a new house.

The situation took a dark turn when one of the guests allegedly pulled out a sword, causing chaos and panic at the venue. Police were eventually called to intervene and restore order. In an interview, the groom's brother alleged that the bride's family had been making excessive demands, including a bridal lehenga worth Rs. 20,000. The bride's mother, however, denied these claims, stating that the groom's family had failed to provide basic wedding essentials and had even accused her of demanding Rs. 1 lakh. The incident has left both families traumatized, with the marriage ultimately being called off due to the unresolved disputes.
