New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Wednesday inaugurated its state-of-the-art new office complex 'Keshav Kunj' in the capital Delhi. Spread over about 5 lakh square feet, this huge complex is equipped with modern facilities and has been built at a cost of Rs 150 crore raised through public donations.

Keshav Kunj comprises several buildings, including towers, a huge auditorium, a rich library, a five-bed hospital and a Hanuman temple. The complex has been built with the aim of smoothly running the growing functions and activities of the RSS.

The new headquarters is built on 4 acres of land in Delhi's Jhandewalan area and is bigger in size than the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters. Keshav Kunj has been designed as an ideal place to hold events, training camps and important meetings. The library will be a centre of knowledge for researchers and scholars, while the auditorium will be capable of hosting large-scale events.

The complex has three grand towers – Sadhna, Prerna and Archana. These three towers have a total of 300 rooms. The Sadhna tower houses the RSS offices, while the Prerna and Archana towers are residential complexes. There is a beautiful open area between the two residential towers, which has an attractive garden and a statue of RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

Keshav Kunj has parking facility for 135 cars, which can be expanded to 270 cars in future. RSS workers and supporters have donated generously for this massive project. According to reports, around 75,000 people have contributed from Rs 5 to lakhs of rupees.

The magnificent 'Keshav Kunj' complex is an excellent example of traditional Rajasthani and Gujarati architecture. 1,000 granite frames have been used in its construction and the use of wood has been minimized. The complex also has a special library called 'Keshav Pustakalaya', which will become the center of research work related to the Sangh.
