India’s AI Revolution: New Indigenous Model to Compete with DeepSeek & ChatGPT

New Delhi ((The Uttam Hindu): Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also announced on the microblogging platform that India will also come up with its generative AI model. India is working towards developing a new AI model.

Ashwini Vaishnav gave this information during the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave. If the Government of India's generative AI model comes, then it can compete directly with the AI ​​model of Chinese company DeepSeek and ChatGPT developed by OpenAI. This AI initiative of the government will be run by the India AI Compute Facility. This facility has acquired 18000 GPUs for the needs of the country and the development of large language models. During a program in Odisha, Ashwini Vaishnav has told about the planning to develop world class semiconductors and AI ecosystem. The government is going to take an important step towards AI and investment is being made in research for this work.

The purpose behind investing is to reduce people's dependence on foreign AI models. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that at least 6 developers, startups and teams can start working towards creating this AI model in the next four to 10 months.

Let us tell you that OpenAI launched the AI ​​model ChatGPT in 2022, after which many companies have joined this race. Now recently the Chinese company Deep Seek has created such an AI model at a very low cost which has created a stir everywhere.
